I Want....

Things I want to do, but cannot right now because I feel too fat, too ugly, too uncoordinated, too plain, too average:
  • yoga
  • get my hair cut to chin-length
  • buy this amazing bra and pantie set that would look so sexy, if only I felt good about myself
I take up too much.... everything. I need to reach 115lbs. again before I allow myself to do any of those things.

Today has been pretty good, food-wise. I broke down a little this afternoon, and had too many gummy candies, but other than that, I stuck to the plan for what I wanted to eat today. Tomorrow will be better, because I won't eat the candies. I am feeling good and hungry right now, so I feel successful. Validation for a day's hard work. Well, you know, minus the candy slip-up.

I read this article the other day about true hunger versus false hunger. It was pretty interesting.

True Hunger

• Appears at regular times
• Appears at least four hours after previous meal
• All healthy foods sound satisfying
• There has been at least one bowel movement in the morning
• You crave unrefined, whole foods
• Sweet craving is satisfied by rice, sweet potato or dates

False Hunger

• Appears at irregular times
• Appears shortly after eating
• Only specific foods sound satisfying
• There is constipation, diarrhea, gas or bloating
• You crave refined, highly sweetened foods
• Your hunger is due to emotional state and/or fatigue

One of my favorite parts was this: "The first thing to do is pay attention. Learn about yourself. Tomorrow when you’re on your lunch break, ask yourself if you’re truly hungry. We usually eat when our day planners tell us to, not when our bodies tell us to. If you’re not hungry, wait until you are. If your schedule doesn’t permit an alternate time to eat at work, eat lightly or wait until dinner. Our culture frowns upon skipping meals because we believe that we need to consume food to have energy and to be productive. In fact, the opposite is true when you eat food you’re not hungry for: It causes fatigue. Productivity in office environments often goes way down after lunch because poor digestion leads to lethargy and a feeling of heaviness."

I just thought it was so interesting, and true! I always get drowsy whenever I eat when I'm not truly hungry. I want all of my friends to read this somehow, so when I am skipping a meal because I am legitimately and honestly not hungry, they won't look on in horror and shock.

Alright, bed time for this girl!

Love you, Skinnies!

  1. Thank you for the last comment. Sweet, it's always a good time to ask for help. But as long as you wait 'til you think you're ready, you probably won't. This is the tricky thing with a mental problem, it takes over your thoughts but it's hard for you to tell that they're not your thoughts.

Though I agree on looking at the funny side of things, it's hardly reasonable to keep a sunny perspective on a descent into hell. Restricting food makes you forget about emtions like pain and sadness that as a human you're supposed to feel.

  3. That's so informative. Thank you for sharing!
That's not too bad of a slip up, you can make up for it. Good luck tomorrow! I know you'll do just fine ;) And you'll make it to 115 soon enough.
    Stay Superstrong.

  4. Ohh love the article! And don't worry, the gummy's won't do anything. You shouldn't beat yourself up/deprive yourself- you deserve to do things that make you happy, even if you aren't at your goal weight!

  8. I adore that article :) All my friends frown on me whenever I skip lunch. Yes, on one day of my alternating schedule it's because I'm eating disordered. But on the second day of my alternating schedule it is because I am legitimately not hungry because it's so early! Everyone else just force feeds on that day, but I usually skip or have an apple; it's completely unnecessary to eat when you're not hungry :P
    So thanks :D

  9. Hollaaa!!!! I figured it out... right as I finished unfollowing all 1093084234 blogs I followed. Hahahaha thanks for the advice! Although since I DETEST celery (I don't even want it when I'm ravenous) that's hard to determine. =P

  10. I seriously advise the yoga, even if you don't feel at your best. It's 100% relaxing, it's exercise, but gentle on the joints and it's just marvellous.

Plus, whenever I have gone to a class I have been one of the youngest and thinnest there :) xx

  11. oh I thought the EXACT same thing about Olivia's new haircut!! I thought that now that winter is coming it would be so nice to cut your hair like this (a little longer that chin-length)but only if I manage to reach 55 (that is 121) so then I would look nice!
anyway you should really try yoga! it really motivates you to eat less and so much healthier really! and it tones all your body, so if you look at it as a form of working out it will do so much good to you! I highly recommend it :D

    take care*
