Study Food (Warning: This is Full of Food Post)

Yes, it's that time again. Mega exam on Wednesday. How heartless, the day before Thanksgiving! Studying my butt off and not eating much. I feel like all I ever write about is how I study all the time. Which I do basically, so it comes as no surprise when I think about it.

K was out of study candy and had to break open the Girl Scout Thin Mints this evening. I am pretty sure she has eaten a whole sleeve so far, but she has been in her room studying all day, so I can't be sure. She also downs Diet Pepsi like it's water and she is a camel going on a trek through the desert. She must go through a two-liter bottle every day almost. That can't be healthy. I know it's not regular Pepsi, but still, diet sodas have so many chemicals and other shite that make them taste like something. She also had a box of Kraft Craparoni and Cheese for dinner as well. That's 1000 calories alone! I want to barf thinking about it.

I was on Facebook earlier, and one of my friends from school had this as her status, with comments to follow:

S is stress eating so she's living on sour gummy watermelons from Wegmans. Husband just restocked my supply with 3 lbs and I will probably be out by the end of the weekend. Ugh, I'm so ready to be done with school!
K (roomie): Jealous. Can husband bring some here? :-P
K (not roomie): that's why there weren't any the last time I was there!! I had to go with the grapefruits...sadly they're all gone now :(
N: ooh the grapefruit wedges are awesome.
K (not roomie): I just bought 2 bags of sour cream and onion potato chips (it was buy one get one free), a large bag of m&ms, and twizzlers at tops... I told the cashier not to judge me, it was study food
S: haha! no, they had just restocked it when he got them ... they were all out we went last time too so in my attempt to scrape some up I ended up with half a bag of the sugar that was left on the bottom. I will have to keep the grapefruit in mind!
K (not roomie): agreed! except I usually like a little fruit salad...grapefruit and watermelon! And not so good when you eat too many and get a tummy ache and burn off the top layers of your tongue...wait nevermind...still good!
A: I prefer tootsie roll pops (raspberry) and jelly bellys!
K (not roomie): man...now I want to go to weggies and get more candy! I'm all out hehe! K-love the comment to the cashier, I think they always judge my weird purchases!
A: I want to go and get sushi and candy
K (not roomie): how about chocolate covered pretzels?? yummmm
S: Ooooh sushi. I have not had it in so long. Like the pretzels, what about chocolate covered raisins! Then they are somewhat healthy and I don't feel so guilty.
A: I like the dark chocolate covered ginger that weggie's has

OMG! This grosses me out. (And I know a lot of people with the first name beginning with K). I was reading this with disbelief. I wouldn't even eat this much food normally. I had to post this for all of you, because I know you will appreciate this as much as I do. Now I know why people say they always gain so much weight around exams!

My dad called me today, and the last thing he asked was if I had eaten dinner. I said no, and he said "Well, eat.... something!" I just said "Well, obviously" to brush it off. But really, it was only 5:50pm. Normal people don't eat until 6 or 6:30. When I am home, we don't eat dinner until around 7, so why the interrogation? I know he only does it because he cares, and because he knows I don't eat when I am stressed, but it's so annoying! Get off my back!

Random: I got these gummi calcium bears. No matter how much I stare at the bottle of Caltrate in the bathroom cupboard as I brush my teeth, I can't get myself to take them. So I got these gummi bears. They are made for little kids, but adults can just as well take them. They have 15 calories for two bears, which gives you 20% of your daily recommended calcium. So I have three a day, and have other things that have calcium in them as well, like calcium enriched OJ, broccoli, and yogurt. I usually make it to 100% of my required calcium now that I am taking these things. 22.5 calories is a small price to pay to get myself to take calcium.

My brother turns 18 tomorrow. Crazy. I still think of him as the little boy I would put Band-aids on to fix his boo-boos. Now he is applying to colleges... Anyway.

Love you, Skinnies!

  1. By the way, thank you so much for your comment yesterday, and your support.

I'm not saying this to be sounding like anything at all. I had no idea people ate like this around exam-time, and although it's not been long, I'm ending my third semester. I stayed on-campus (sort of) last year, and I will again next year (stupid college screwed up my scholarship, but I live 7 minutes away). I didn't know people ate any differently. Except... if anything, I may *ahem* eat a little, um, less. But pigging out while studying? I've never even heard of that! That's sick! That would distract me so bad with guilt! God, how do people live with themselves? DUH college fat - and people wonder. I wondered why the hell my campus had so many fat people, well I suppose I know now.

  2. Thanks so much for your comment earlier. It was very encouraging and exactly what I needed to hear!
I think I will stick to the fast and just try and get away with munching on celery and sipping tea as long as I can.
But im not at school, im at home for break, so its sooo much more difficult to fast.
PLUS thanksgiving is coming up, and I will definitely have to eat.
I cant purge either... I've tried countless times to try and make myself throw up, but i can never do it?!
    Any tips??

    Keep strong & think thinnnnn!!!!

  3. Oh my... That's just frightening but you're right, I do appreciate it. Thanks for posting. Reminds me that I'm stronger than that.

Oh, and I totally am into the gummy-vites. I can't bring myself to take 1-A-Day or any of those monstrous pills. The gummies are a bit of a treat, too, without being a "fruit-salad."

  5. I never pigged out when I was studying! Ewwww. When I was stressed and I needed to study, food distracts me because food is such a BIG ordeal!
