My dad surprised me today at lunch! It was really sweet. He is traveling for work right now, and was going to be near the area today. He called me last night wanting to know when I got out of class today, but I got out of class too late for it to be possible for him to see me, since he has to be somewhere this evening. So I wasn't expecting him, and then he texted me at 11:30, telling me he would be getting into town at noon, and wants to take me out to lunch! I was so happy to see him! I love my dad :)
We went to a sandwich shop, and I got a turkey/cheddar/apple/honey mustard sandwich on French bread. It wasn't huge, and I am so happy that he came and surprised me that I don't care about eating a big lunch. Well, I don't care much. Obviously, I am always going to care. And I ate the whole thing so he can report back to my mother that I am healthy and eating well, blah, blah, blah, lol. I even got a regular Snapple instead of the diet version or water. But now that means I have a great excuse to not eat much at dinner tonight, because we have reservations for 5:30, and there is no way I will be hungry, since I ate that sandwich at 1. The menu is still not posted, so I still don't know what they are serving tonight.
But I am sooo happy after seeing my dad. I guess you don't realize how much you miss your family until you see them after being gone a while. It was just what I needed for a pick-me-up with all this stress I have from difficult classes and feeling like I am just treading water to keep from drowning under these piles of work we keep getting dumped upon our heads. Now I think I can make it through to Thanksgiving.
Well, off to study until T's birthday dinner!
