Wandering the Aisles

So today went really well. It was my day where I don't have class until noon. I had a plain english muffin with organic raspberry preserves, coffee with a tiny dash of sugar and light soy milk, and orange juice, amounting to 300 cals. That was it, and I brought to class with me only water and this Amazon Acai juice I was really excited about. It was 157 cals., but since I wasn't going to eat anything else for lunch, I was okay with it. Plus it is super healthy. Well, I ended up hating the way it tastes! But at least I regained those calories.

After classes were over, I went to two grocery stores, just because I felt like walking around. I could spend so long walking around grocery stores, picking things up and looking at the calorie content, and then putting them down, going onto the next thing. I spent an hour doing that, which was pretty good for me. Sometimes I take much longer. I bought some more yogurts for my breakfast, because at this one store they are always 50 cents each, which you really can't beat. I also bought a lunch box, since I have to bring lunch on Fridays, and I have this thing about fruits and vegetables, where they need to be cold for me to eat them. Unless they are bananas, obviously. So now I have a lunch box that is insulated so I can stick an ice pack in there. The other thing I bought were these focaccia sticks from New York Style brand. They are baked pieces of focaccia, and only 70 cals for three of them, which ends up being pretty satisfying. My skinny friend, W, had been eating them the other day, so I was kind of on this mission to buy them myself. I ended up having about two servings of those around 5 this afternoon, so that was dinner. Not too bad.

I did have a half a cupcake. One of the ones K made for her birthday. I don't know, I know it's me being paranoid again, but I hadn't had one yet, and I felt like if I refrained from having one for a third day in a row, she would start getting suspicious. So I took a cue from W, and only ate the top part off, the part with the frosting. That is the best part if you must eat one anyway. Then I threw the rest out. Hopefully not too much damage caused by that one. I don't know how many calories that is, but I would say around 125 cals. So altogether, I have had 565 cals for the day, but I am going to bump that to 600, just for safety's sake. I did have a few sips of that drink, and I had a Jolly Rancher at 1pm as well.

Tomorrow there is an ice cream social going on at the vet school during lunch. I have already decided that I will not have any ice cream. It's going to be too cold anyway! It is supposed to be 14 degrees here tomorrow. Who wants to eat ice cream when it is that cold out? So that will be my excuse, that I am too cold for ice cream. W, who I am sure is not going to have any, will eat our lunches in the student lounge. I have packed a half cup of fat-free cottage cheese (80 cals), a kiwi fruit (50 cals), and some mini rice cakes (60 cals). It looks like so little, but when you add it up, that is almost 200 cals! I don't think I am going to eat all the rice cakes, though, so that should bring it down a little bit.

And tomorrow night, we are having game night at J's house, one of my friends. I am hoping I can get away with not eating dinner tomorrow, and going to game night on an empty stomach, as I am sure there will be munchies there, of which I am sure I will be forced to have at least one cookie or something. This friend, J, is an amazing baker, and comes up with his own recipes for cookies and cakes and so forth, and loves having parties where people taste his creations. I have said "No, thanks" one time before to trying at least something he made up, and he looked a little hurt, so now I make sure I try one thing to make him happy.

Alright, class at 8am tomorrow. Time to read a few more blogs, and then bed.

Love you, Skinnies!
