I Need Immunity

First things first: Alice in Wonderland was awesome! Johnny Depp was brilliant, but that's no surprise; I just can't believe the depth he has as an actor. He can do anything he wants and make it perfect. Anne Hathaway was gorgeous. The girl who played Alice was perfectly cast, in my opinion. She was physically grown up, but childish at the same time. And her collarbone was to die for! Everyone in the movie was very pale, as well, which made myself and my friend excited, since we are both translucent! Well, maybe not that pale, but pale none the less.

K, my roomie, is sick with something. She went to the campus health center yesterday, and they said she was a fever short of calling it the flu. She has this awful hacking cough, which gives her a headache and makes her vomit, and keeps her from sleeping since she just coughs up the cough syrup she got from the drug store. So they gave her a really strong cough suppressant, and it seems to be working. I went out yesterday and bought Airborne (an over the counter herbal-type remedy that is supposed to boost the immune system) and Vitamin C tablets, on top of the daily vitamin and orange juice that I drink every morning. I also bought a ton of veggies. My immune system is usually pretty strong, but I don't want to test it less than two weeks before I go to London. I got a flu shot in November, so if K has the flu, then I should have much less of a chance of getting it.

In other news, I had gotten down to 122.5lbs. on Friday morning, and then messed everything up. I was already sleep deprived, having gotten only three hours of sleep the night before due to the midnight show of Alice in Wonderland, so my guards were down. Then, in Clin Path, our professors brought in sugar cookies decorated to look like the blood components. Yes, we're all big dorks in vet school, but whatever. So I had a red blood cell and a neutrophil, at 10am! Then, my friends decided they wanted to go to a bagel place after class for lunch, and I was talked into going. So I got a bagel with regular cream cheese, and these places always put on so much cream cheese! Then, in the afternoon, I had some pretzels and some peanut M&Ms. Not much of either one, but I still had planned to not eat anything after the bagel, so I failed that. Anyway, I ended up weighing 125lbs. on Friday night! I was mortified.

So yesterday I was 124lbs., which I was okay with. I planned to eat less than 600 cals. yesterday to make up for everything on Friday. I had a banana, orange juice, and coffee for breakfast, a banana and a small handful of granola at 2pm, and then Egg Beaters for dinner, which are amazing by the way! Only 30 calories a serving and they are made with real eggs, so they taste like real eggs! So I had the Egg Beaters with broccoli, salsa, and jalapenos. The only calories I had to drink were the orange juice and the small amount of soy milk and sugar I put in my coffee. Otherwise I drank water all day. I also had my vitamin, calcium chews, Airborne, and Vitamin C tablet. After dinner, I looked really bloated, which was weird, because I ate so little and was legitimately hungry before I ate as well; shaky, stomach grumbling, that sort of thing. So I weighed myself before I went to bed, and I was 126.5lbs! I was so confused, and I had no idea how I could have gained 2.5lbs. after eating only about 500 cals. all day. I started looking up if Vitamin C could make you bloated, but apparently it is supposed to get rid of bloat, since it helps your kidneys increase their filtration rate, so they filter more water into your urine.

So then when I woke up this morning, I was back to 124lbs. with a flat stomach. I have no idea why that happened, but I am going to continue taking the Vitamin C and Airborne, because I don't want to get sick, and I know they will help my immune system. I am going to eat less than 600 cals. today as well, and hopefully what happened yesterday doesn't happen today, and I can be at least 123lbs. tomorrow.

I leave for London in 13 days, so that gives me 13 days to lose as much weight as possible. I am not going to give myself a goal, except to say "Lose as much as I can". This way, it will be like a game for me to play. I really hope I can pull off a big number!

Love you, Skinnies!

I've been having a similar problem, and I'm glad you were back down in weight and appearance today! that totally gives me hope.
Huge stomachs are no fun. :(

Alice in wonderland was amazing! Alice's outfits and her skin and her hair- just perfect. Johnny Depp does crazy so well!

  2. I always figure its water weight when I think of overnight gain and bloating. But, you didn't have many calories or sodium. Weird. Don't fret. Our bodies fluctuate so oddly. Chalk it up to hormones. It'll fall right off.
Am so excited to see Alice in Wonderland.

Man, I know what you mean, I keep getting bloated for absolutely no reason, and my weight is fluctuating like crazy. It confuses me > <

  5. Ugh... A bump in the road for you on Friday. But you can do it! I like your mindset about making weightloss a game before London. Ditto with Ever. Wish I was going to. You're gonna look amazing for your trip!

  6. I loved that movie too! And the paleness was perfect for me as well, I'm pretty darn white. I thought Alice was perfect as well, she looks 14 but I know she's not. And thats all I could think about during the movie as well, how pretty and skinny everyone was, especially Alice, and those two pretty girls that confronted her at her party.

I wish I could travel. I don't have any means of leaving the country. And I have a poor fiance. Damn it! Oh well, have a great time!

    peace
