I've Been Tagged!!

I've been tagged by Charr :) Time to answer her questions!

1. Favorite song right now?
Well, I really like "Go Do" by Jonsi, and "Heartbreak Warfare" by John Mayer. But I really do love any kind of music, from Ke$ha to Death Cab for Cutie to Florence + the Machine to Miley Cyrus to Travis Tritt. The only thing I don't really enjoy is heavy metal. So I might have new favorite songs tomorrow. LOL

2. How do you distract yourself when something is bothering you?
I try to ignore whatever is bothering me. I am good at ignoring. And I like avoiding conflict and confrontation.

3. Binge trigger for you?
When I do something wrong or am criticized for something, and therefore my quest for perfection comes crashing down. So I guess I figure I might just make it hurt even worse by stuffing myself full of food. So, that could be a dismal exam grade, a reprimand from a professor or clinician at school, messing up in front of a clinician or professor at school, etc.

4. Do you trust people easily?
This is an interesting question, because the answer is yes and no. I give people the chance for me to trust them easily, but the minute they break that trust, it will be extremely hard for them to get it back again. Like, probably they will never regain my trust. So, as long as someone never gives me reason to lose trust in them, then yes! I trust people easily.

5. Today is your last day - who do you spend it with?
I have always been a family girl, so it would definitely be my family. If I were forced to choose one person from my family, it would have to be my mom. <3

6. If you could have any wish in the world, what would it be?
Well, the obvious answer would be to be thin, but I know I am going to get there through my hard work. So, I would say to get a spot for a residency in orthopedics, so I can get board-certified in orthopedic surgery. These spots are super competitive.

7. What color is your room?
We're not even going to talk about the color of my room at my apartment at school, which I hate the color of and is so ugly but is wallpapered, so it would be SO hard to take down and re-do, and I just don't have the time :( People, please please please NEVER wallpaper anything! It is so time-consuming and near-impossible to take down when you get bored of it. (My room came like this when we moved in. I would never have chosen this ugly color.) So I will talk about my room at home instead :) It is a light sage green, sponge painted white over top. It is so pretty, and makes me think of summer every time I am in my room. My favorite color is green, too.

8. Your guilty pleasure, food wise?
Okay, those Little Debbie strawberry shortcake rolls are my deepest, darkest, most secret guilty pleasure. I can taste them right now, just thinking about them. And for 270cals each, they better be delicious!

9. When do you usually get up on the weekends?
I am an early bird, so it's between 7 and 7:30 in the morning. I get excited when I "sleep in" until 8. LOL

10. Website you visit the most?
Blogger, obviously!

So, I got the new scale!! I got a Weight Watchers one that measures in 0.1lb increments! Incredibly accurate. It has a glass top that is frosted green glass :) K's scale in the bathroom told me 122lbs. again this morning, so when I got back from buying my new scale, I tried it out. It told me 122.8lbs., but I had eaten breakfast already. I make it a point not to weigh myself after eating or drinking anything in the morning, but I was so excited about my new scale, I just had to try it out. We will see tomorrow morning what it gives me for a reading! I am excited :) Speaking of accuracy, so I just mentioned that K's scale told me 122 this morning? Well, since K and I share the bathroom (T has her own bathroom), it is too risky to weigh myself at night with my new scale, I've decided. My room is carpeted, so I can't weigh in there; that gives me the hallway outside my room, which is right next to K's room, and the bathroom. Both options are far from ideal, so I am going to have to weigh with my scale only in the morning, since K gets up an hour after I do on weekdays, and not before 10am on weekends. She will never catch me in the morning. It feels too weird not weighing at night, though, so I weighed myself on K's scale just now, and it said 121.5lbs. Now, I really don't feel like I did SO well today to lose a half pound. See why I needed a new scale?!?!

I found this rather funny. The instructions for my new scale say "Don't overdo it! A surefire way to get overly concerned with your weight is to weigh yourself too often. Weigh yourself no more than once a week when you're dieting. Though it's hard to stick to this pattern, it's the best way to prevent unnecessary concern with normal weight fluctuations, which are unrelated to your weight-loss efforts. So don't get caught up with a single number." Ah, thanks Weight Watchers. That's so comforting. I feel so much better about myself. LOL There is a bunch more stuff like that in the instructions, and I just find it so funny. I wonder who had to write that all out so it would be included with every scale Weight Watchers makes.

The light in my lamp just went out. I think it's telling me that I need to go to bed. I will update my stats tomorrow, Stats Update Sunday! And I will come up with some questions to tag a couple of you ladies with as well :)

Love you, Skinnies!

  1. I'm freaked out about weighing myself after food and/or drink... and/or clothes. Naked first thing in the morning is how I do! Just reading that you weigh yourself in the middle of the day gets my heart racing!

You are such an inspiration Sottile!

  2. See my issue with weighing yourself every week is that weight fluctuates. like whether you've gone to the bathroom or made sure to drink your water the day before or ate tons of sodium.
All those warnings caution against using a weight measurement as an absolute, yet tell you to only take that measurement once a week. What if the day you took it the weight was wrong? You're screwed for a whole week! It seems silly.

Rant aside, yayyy for new scale!

  3. Thanks for answering my lame little questions! :P <3
Haha, that's pretty cool, we have the same scale-- except mine doesn't have the green: it's just clear glass.
I actually laughed aloud at the booklet too...I was like once a week? Yeah, OKAY =P
    Take care! :)
